Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. popularly known as Danny Devito is a popular American comedian, actor, director as well as a producer. He was born on 17th November 1944 in New Jersey, United States of America. He gained popularity for his role in the ABC and NBC TV series titled “Taxi” aired in 1978–1983.
Early career
Famous Hollywood actor Danny Devito appeared in a TV play in 1971 to start his acting career and appeared in his first film titled “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” in 1975. In 1978, he came to the limelight with his role of Louie De Palma in the popular TV series “Taxi”. Taxi series was aired during 1978-1983 and when it ended, Danny Devito appeared in “Terms of Endearment”, followed by “Romancing the Stone” co-starring Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas. In 1985, he appeared in the sequel of the “Romancing the Stone”, titled “The Jewel of the Nile”. In 1980s, he appeared in a number of movies including “Ruthless People” along with Judge Reinhold, “Throw Momma from the Train” and “The War of the Roses”, which was directed by him. Some of Danny Devito’s other successful movies include “Other People’s Money”, the blockbuster “Batman Returns”, “The Rainmaker”, “Hoffa”, and “Heist”.
