Robert was born on 17th August 1943 and was raised by his mother, Virginia Holton Admiral, a painter and poet. He attended the High School of Music and Art but never graduated. He switched colleges as well as courses but his destiny was decided by his stage debut at age ten, playing the Cowardly Lion in his school’s production of “The Wizard of Oz”. He studied acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory as well as Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio.
