Allan Stewart Konigsberg popularly known as Woody Allen is an American director, actor, screenwriter, author, comedian and playwright. He has played so many superb roles during his coveted career including the Oscar winning roles in “Annie Hall”, “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “Midnight in Paris”.
Early Career
Woody Allen started his career as stand-up comedian but later started writing and directing movies. He was ranked at 4th place in the 100 best stand-up comedians of the world in 2004.
He appeared in his debut movie in 1965 in a movie titled “What’s New Pussycat?” and made his directorial debut with a movie titled “What’s Up, Tiger Lily?” in 1969 he directed, wrote and appeared in “Take the Money and Run”, followed by a number of movies in the 1970s including “Bananas”, “Sleeper”, “Love and Death” and “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)”.
In 1980s Woody Allen produced some best movies of the era including “Hannah and Her Sisters” and “The Purple Rose of Cairo”. He has also been associated with theater; some of his successful theatre works include “Don’t Drink the Water”, “The Floating Light Bulb” and “Writer’s Block”.
