Pakistan drama industry consists of very few actors from the past decades, who were perfect actors. Not even then, but even today they are a complete institute within themselves. They know the art of acting. Sohail Asghar is one such perfect actor. He is indeed a seasoned talent of Pakistan. He was born on 15th June, 1954.
Sohail Asghar was born in Lahore. He completed his education from Lahore. Later on, he joined Radio Pakistan, Multan, and from there his destination started shaping up. He did radio from 1978 to 1988 in Multan. Meanwhile he started working in theatre also. This improved his acting germs a lot.
There came a time, when he left radio and started a Carpet business with his cousin. He was confused about choosing his career. But he had no idea that his career had been already written divinely. After one year in business, he left it too and came to Lahore. There he joined radio again and got reconnected with his destined career.
From radio, TV director, Nusrat Thakur selected him and offered him a role in his play. Mr. Sohail Asghar did his first play, Raat, from PTV Lahore. His acting was immensely appreciated in that play, though it was not a lead role. He gained huge popularity through his play Khwahish. This appreciation encouraged Mr. Sohail and then he never looked back.
In 2003, he made his movie debut in Murad. In 2004, his film Mah Noor was released and his performance in the film was also highly appreciated. Some of his dramas are Laag, Man chale ka Sauda, Khwahish, Raat, Nangay Paon, Malka e Aliya, Shabdaig, Waqt, Piyas, and Chand Grehain. Earlier this year, he was admitted to hospital and had to undergo surgery due to stomach ailment.
