The Rawalpindi born charmer and popular TV actress of Pakistan Sadia Imam literally seems to be everywhere, in TV dramas, commercials, morning shows and Fashion shows.
Her love for show business has carried her successfully for years and she exudes the same charm, energy and freshness as she did years ago when she made her debut.
In her long journey Sadia Imam has matured as a powerful and intelligent performer. Sadia is also a poet and a short story writer and is currently the Goodwill Ambassador of National Book Foundation. Acting was not new to Sadia who used to do radio programs from Islamabad center while her sister Aliyah assisted Jamshed Farshoori the director.
Sadia once accompanied her to the television studio where Nabila the famous beautician who also ran a modeling agency spotted her. Together they did a photoshoot with Tapu Javeri another famous personality of the Pakistan fashion world.
Almost after a year Sadia was seen on the TV in a tea commercial. Her good looks and acting talents made the people sit up and notice her and soon offers for doing plays came pouring down. Sadia made her debut in the popular drama serial Uljhan from Karachi; directed by Kazim Pasha, Sadia shone in that serial although her character was negative.
With careful and wise selection of roles Sadia quickly climbed the ladder of success. The introduction of private channels only made her more popular. She has directed and produced plays herself; her directorial debut Tapish was well liked by the people.
Acting and directing plays runs in the family as her elder sister Aliyah Imam does comic roles and has also directed plays. Saza was the first play directed by Aliyah. Another directorial venture Sirf Aik Baar went down well with the audience.
Aliyah mostly acts in sitcoms and Salma Aur Sitaray, Boom Boom and Mera Ghar No.1 are some of the popular sitcoms in which she has featured. She has won Lux Style Award for Best TV Actress (Terrestrial).
