Serbian Novak Djokovic claimed his fifth title at Melbourne Park in the Australian Open 2015. He defeated Andy Murray in the final 7-6, 6-7, 6-3, and 6-0. Serena Williams won yet another Grand Slam trophy after defeating Maria Sharapova in straight sets 6-3, 7-6.
In men’s doubles, Italians Fabio Fognini and Simone Bolelli defeated Frenchmen Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut 6-4, 6-4 for the title.
As for women’s doubles, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, and Lucie Safarova lifted the trophy, after winning against Chan Yung-Jan and Zheng Jie in the final 6-4, 7-6.
Veterans Martina Hingis and Leander Paes won mixed doubles at Aus Open 2015, after defeating Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor 6-4, 6-3. When it comes to Australian Open 2015 boys’ singles, the trophy in singles was lifted by Russian Roman Safiullin, after defeating Hon Seong-Chan of South Korea 7-4, 7-6.
In boys’ doubles, Australian pair Jake Delaney and Mark Polmans won the finals against Hubert Hurkacz of Poland and Alex Molcan of Slovakia 0-6, 6-2, 10-8. Aus Open 2015 girls’ singles were interesting, and Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia defeated Katie Swan of Great Britain 6-1, 6-4 in the final.
In girls’ doubles, Czech pair Miriam Kolodziejova and Marketa Vondrousova defeated Katharina Hobgarski and Greet Minnen 7-5, 6-4 in the final match. In the wheelchair, the men’s singles final of Australian Open 2015 Japanese Shingo Kunieda defeated Stephane Houdet from France 6-2, 6-2.
In the wheelchair men’s doubles, Houset and Kunieda played together and won the title after defeating Gustavo Fernandez from Argentina and Gordon Reid from Great Britain 6-2, 6-1. As for the wheelchair women’s singles, Jiske Griffioen from Holland defeated another Japanese Yui Kamiji 6-3, 7-5.
The Japanese won the title in women’s doubles in pair with Jordanne Whiley of Great Britain, after defeating Griffioen and her compatriot Aniek Van Koot 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
In the wheelchair quad singles of Aus Open 2015, home player Dylan Alcott defeated David Wagner of the USA 6-2, 6-3. The American got his revenge in doubles, when he and Andrew Lapthorne of Great Britain defeated Dylan Alcott and Lucas Sithole 6-0, 3-6, 6-2.
