Lux Style Awards
The glamorous ceremony of the 12th Lux Style Awards to honor the Pakistani drama and film industry was held in the city of Lahore in October 2013.
It was one of the most beautiful nights that Lahore had witnessed as stars from the world of glitz and glamour had gathered together under one roof. Ahmed Butt added life to the show with his remarkable hosting skills.
The highlights of the show were a special tribute to the great music maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for his invaluable services which earned him international recognition. The services of fashion icon Sehyr Saigol were also acknowledged at the 12th Lux Style Awards 2013.
Celebrities Meera, Ahsan Khan, Amina Sheikh, Humaima Mallick, Sana and Atif Aslam mesmerized the audience with their brilliant live performance. Children from the SOS Village also joined Atif Aslam and together gave power packed performance on a hit song of Atif Aslam from a film across the border.
Drama series Humsafar made a clean sweep as it bagged all the top honors for satellite TV such as Best Director, Best Actor Male (Fawad Khan), Best Actor Female (Mahira Khan) while Nauman Ijaz and Mahnoor Baloch were declared Best Actor Male and Best Actor Female for Terrestrial TV.
Ahmed Butt’s hosting and fabulous performances by the actors and actresses made the 12th Lux Style Awards 2013 a truly memorable event.
Journey of Lux Style Awards 2002-2006
The 1st Lux Style Awards 2002 were hosted by Zia Mohyeddin who enjoys international fame as an actor, narrator and host. This event set the ball rolling and raised the bar for future award ceremonies to come. In 2003, the Red Carpet events of Lux Style Awards was hosted by Adnan Siddiqui and ZQ.
The highlight of the show was great performance from Moin Akhter who was awarded Life Time Achievement Award in this event. The Sufi Rock Band Junoon also gave their last performance as a band; the band later split up with Ali Azmat and Salman Ahmed parting ways to pursue solo careers.
The third Lux Style Awards were held in Dubai and hosted by the graceful and multitalented Nadia Jameel. The 3rd Lux Style Award was a big budget bonanza as celebrated film and TV personalities and fashion designers and models from Pakistan and India participated in the event. Bands Strings and Fuzon performed on stage whereas Resham, Amianah Haq and Meera gave superb dance performances.
The 4th Lux Style Awards were held in 2005 with film actor Shan as host and the gorgeous Iman Ali and Amianah Haq as co-hosts. Atif Aslam gave his first Lux Style Awards performance and established himself as an energetic and vibrant performer who could sing, dance and woo his way into the hearts of the audience.
The 5th Lux Style Awards are one of the most memorable events performances wise. Among the singers Ali Azmat, Ali Zafar, Hadiqa Kiyani and Stereo Nation sent the crowd into frenzy with their electrifying performances.
Next the film couples Saima and Shan and Reema and Moammar Rana thrilled the audience with their dance performance. Through their bubbly and lively performance Ali Kazmi and Anoushey Ashraf paid homage to the first pop singer of Indo-Pak Nazia Hassan.
Another exceptional performance was from Meera who danced to the songs of Runa Laila. Glowing tributes were paid to the veteran actor Mohammed Ali while Mehdi Hasan received a lifetime achievement award.
