The era of 1989-1980 in French Open tennis tournaments has been an alternative win pattern which was shared by two famous male tennis players, Ivan Lendl and Mats Wilander.
Maximum French Open Championships were claimed by these two tennis players during this decade. Lendl and Wilander faced each other several times in the finals as well.
Lendl and Wilander won the same number of French Open Grand Slams (4) in their tennis careers and were considered great rivals of the ’80s. Michael Chang, the youngest tennis player ever to have won the grand slam also claimed the French Open title.
