Jessica stepped in the field of acting with her role in TV Drama titled “7th Heaven” in 1996. Her role as Mary Camden proved to be her claim to fame and as a result she earned a role in another critically acclaimed TV drama “Ulee’s Gold” in 1997. Her brilliant performance in “Ulee’s Gold” earned her Young Artist Award in the category for Best Performance in a Feature Film, in 1998.
In 2003, she landed a role in movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, which proved to be good commercial success and earned Jessica her first MTV Movie Award and Saturn Award nominations in categories for breakthrough performance and best actress respectively. She also appeared in commercially hit movies “Blade: Trinity” (2003) and “Stealth” (2004), followed by a cameo role in “Cellular” released in 2004.
The turning point in the career of Jessica came with her role in “The Illusionist” released in 2006, for which she won Rising Star Award and an Achievement award at Palm Springs International Film Festival and Newport Beach Film Festival respectively.
