Michael John Douglas popularly known as Michael Keaton is a famous American actor. He was born on 5th September, 1951 in Pennsylvania, United States of America. He gained popularity early on in his career for his comedic roles including the title role in “Beetlejuice” released in 1988. Later in his career, Michael Keaton earned worldwide fame and recognition for his portrayal of “Batman”, which became his claim to fame.
Early Career
Michael Keaton’s first TV appearance came in a public television program titled “Where the Heart Is”, followed by “Neighborhood” aired in 1975. He came to the limelight with a short comedy series titled “Working Stiffs” also starring James Belushi. After a successful comedy role in “Working Stiffs”, he earned a chance to appear in Ron Howard directed “Night Shift”.
He appeared in a number of comedy roles in some hit comedy films including “Mr. Mom”, “Gung ho” and “Johnny Dangerously”. After a series of comedy roles, he finally landed a leading role in Tim Burton’s blockbuster movie titled “Batman” in 1989. His portrayal of comic book hero Batman become his identity and gave a much needed boost to his acting career. In 1992, he again appeared in the Batman sequel titled “The Batman Returns”, which also was a critically acclaimed movie.
