Tehmina Durrani was born into a very rich and dominant Afghan family on 18th February, 1953. Her family was also very educated, which resulted in Tehmina’s independent spirit. At the age of 17 she was betrothed to Anees Khan, giving birth to her daughter Tania, but the couple divorced and she married Ghulam Mustafa Khar.

Famous writer of Pakistan Mustansar Hussain Tarar was born at Mandi Bahauddin. He was born on 1st March, 1939. He witnessed the great partition of the Subcontinent and everything initiated by this partition. He observed these events keenly at Lahore. He was the son of Rehmat Khan Tarar who used to run a small seed business. His business turned out to be very profitable gradually and a time came when he was the best among his competitors.

Known as one of the greatest contemporary Urdu poetesses of Pakistan, Shakir was born in Karachi Pakistan on 24th November, 1952. Perveen Shakir completed her education in Karachi and did her Masters; one in English Language and one in Linguistic. Later she got another Masters degree in Bank Administration from Harvard University. Shakir also cleared the CSS exam; a highly competitive exam for Pakistani Civil Services. For nine years Shakir was associated with the teaching profession and then joined the Customs Department as a Civil Servant. She also worked as a second secretary, CBR Islamabad.
