Born on the 12th of December, 1937 in Melbourne, Victoria, Judy (Tegart) Dalton was a former Australian tennis player. Her tennis career holds excellent records and she used to win at least one women’s doubles titles at each Grand Slam championships.
About five of the Grand Slam doubles titles were achieved by teaming up with Margaret Court. She was also a ten-time runner up contestant in the Grand Slam doubles championship matches.
Right from the beginning, female tennis players in tennis were doing quite well and had achieved great feats in the tennis world. Women have been actively engaged in the tennis game for a long time now and have held great power positions like the male players.
Judy Tegart was the runner up contestant in the Wimbledon singles championship in the year 1968 and managed to reach the semi-finals in 1971 but lost by three sets. In the U.S Open, she reached the quarter-finals twice, thrice at the Australian Open and once at the Wimbledon Championships.
In the year 1977, she played her final Grand Slam tournament which was the Australian Open. She lost the championship against Evonne Goolagong Cawley in the quarterfinals by two sets.
Haydon Jones was an excellent doubles tennis player through which she won the Australian Open in the years 1964, 1967, 1969 as well as in 1970. She won the Wimbledon championship in 1969, the French Open in 1966, and the U.S Championships in the years 1970 and 1971 with her partner Margaret Court.
In 1968, she was ranked to be the no. 7 players in the singles ranking. Her efforts also led Australia to win the Federation Cup in the years 1965 and 1970. She holds the record of 12 – 3 doubles and 6 – 1 single. Later on, she became the President of the Federation Cup Foundation.
