6th Lux Style Award 2007
In 2007 the glittering stars of the Pakistani film, fashion, music and TV industry gathered in the exotic country Malaysia for the 6th Lux Style Awards ceremony. The ceremony provided an ideal opportunity to showcase the Pakistani culture.
Besides acknowledging the efforts and hard work of the people involved in show biz and fashion industry, the Lux Style Awards ceremony also honors the legend of yesteryears by giving Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2007, the singing sensation of the 70s Naheed Akhtar was chosen for the Lifetime Achievement award. The venue echoed with Naheed Akhtar’s voice as she sang after a hiatus of almost two decades. Atif Aslam also mesmerized the audience with lively performance; he was well supported by Aminah Haq.
Veena Malik also entertained the audience with Rauf Lala the famous comedian. The dance performances of Sana, Meera, Resham and Nirma were well-received by the audience as well.
Terence Lewis the Indian choreographer and his troupe put up an amazing performance. Atif Aslam and Ali Zafar also joined them leaving the audience captivated.
As expected Majajan the film from Syed Noor was the winner in the categories of Best Director, Best Actor Male (Shan), Best Actor Female (Saima) and Best Film. Bushra Ansari was declared the Best Actor Female for Satellite TV while for Terrestrial TV, it was Samina Peerzada. Nauman Ijaz was judged Best Actor Male for Terrestrial TV.
7th Lux Style Awards 2008
The 7th Lux Style Awards was a star studded affair held at the DHA Golf Club Karachi. The show was hosted by film star Shan and Ali Azmat who were assisted by other stars. Security issues haunted the ceremony but still it turned out to be a largely attended event as every prominent person from the film, TV, fashion and music fraternities was present.
What made the 7th Lux Style Awards 2008 memorable was the tribute Atif Aslam paid to the legendary folk singer Reshma as he sang Lumbi Judai. Shehzad Roy also paid tributes to the legendary singer.
Coming down to awards, film Khuda key Liya made a clean sweep as it bagged the four major awards; Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Original Soundtrack. The Best Actor Male for Terrestrial TV was Asif Reza Mir while Beenish Chohan was judged Best Actor Female.
For Satellite TV the Best Actor Male was Humayun Saeed while Bushra Ansari walked away with Best Actor Female award. Neha was judged the best female model while Ameer Zeb Khan was the best male model. Besides Reshma, Mrs. Sughra Kazmi was also presented the Lux Achievement Award for her contribution to the fashion industry.
