Ali Azmat Butt descends from Abbotabad, but he grew up in Lahore in Garhi Shahu. He was born on 20th April, 1970. Ali Azmat since just been a little boy had been very dedicated to whatever he did and was motivated by his desires and wants.
Ali went to Australia to pursue higher studies but due to financial constraints returned to homeland with an unfinished university degree. He is not only a singer but also a songwriter and an actor.
Career of Pakistani Singer Ali Azmat
Ali Azmat is a very unconventional artist. He as a different attitude and a different way of handling things and he started his music career in a very passionate way. Ali Azmat was very much interested in music industry and he always wanted to get a chance to prove his worth in the field of music.
He learnt instruments as a teenager due to his interest he formed a small band called Jupiter. This band did several gigs and mostly covered famous songs. Soon he got the chance he had been waiting for his entire life. Ali Azmat got a big break by entering the famous band “Junoon”.
They were very famous for fusion of traditional poetry with rock music. This made them rise to fame almost immediately. By 2000 the band had did international tours gaining fame and love of fans.
In 2001, he became the first Pakistani band member to perform at the United Nations General Assembly. He has acted in two movies: Waar and Jhol (unreleased)
Ali Azmat left Junoon in 2005 to pursue his career as a solo artist. His first album was social circus in 2005, the same year he left the band.
This album was very different from the music Junoon did and received 23 awards in Pakistan. Ali also has gained popularity in India due to his several songs sung for Bollywood.
