One of the greatest goalkeepers of the present football era, Manuel Neuer (born 27 March 1987) is a 25-year-old German Born goalkeeper who plays for The German Bundesliga football club Bayern Munich.

He’s been rated as one of the best young goalkeepers not only in Europe but around the world at the moment. Making his fast sharp reflex saves Manuel easily stands out among the rest of the world’s goalkeepers.

He has also represented Germany at the international level and is currently their number one goalkeeper. Neuer started his club career at The German Bundesliga Schalke 04 first making his breakthrough at Schalke 04’s reserve/second team Schalke 04 II he made 26 appearances for them before being promoted to the first team.

After he broke into Schalke 04’s first team he made the number one goalkeeper spot his own and put in fine displays and performances in The Bundesliga. Manuel Neuer made a total of 155 appearances for the first team and was nominated for UEFA’s Team of The Year in November 2010.

During the 2010/2011 season, his fine and outstanding goalkeeping skills took Schalke football club to the semi-finals of The UEFA Champions League. His fine performances for Schalke 04 in the 10/11 season earned him interest from German Rivals Bayern Munich after Neuer announced in April he would not extend his contract.

This created some controversy between the fans of the two clubs but Neuer signed for Bayern Munich in June 2011. Neuer is known for his decisive saves and fast reflexes but has been known to lack control in the commanding sense. He stands at about 1.94 meters in height.
