Famous football player Juan Mata is a 23-year-old Spanish born footballer (born 28 April 1988) who plays his football for Spanish La Liga club Valencia CF.
His preferred position is as a central midfielder and playmaker but he can also play on the wings. Mata stands at 1.70 meters and wears the number 10 shirt. Mata started his youth career at Oviedo and then moved to the Spanish football club Real Madrid in 2003.
He broke into Real Madrid’s B team in 2006 and played for them 39 times scoring 10 goals but failed to break into the senior team. After his excellent season for the B team, Valencia approached him in 2007 and signed him.
He’s stayed with Valencia football club ever since and has performed remarkably well. He’s only won the Copa Del Rey with Valencia in 2007-2008 but at the international level with Spain, he has truly outshined.
He won The FIFA World Cup in 2010 with Spain though he did not start and came in third place in the FIFA Confederations Cup. In 2010-2011 Juan Mata helped The Spanish U-21 side win The UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship: 2011.
Mata is known for his exquisite passing skills his mazy runs and his excellent dribbling skills making him one of the best midfielders in Spain and only behind the likes of Iniesta and Xavi. Major clubs tried to sign Mata in 2010-2011 but he has said that he wants to stay with Valencia for some more time to come.
