Uma Karuna Thurman is an American model as well as an actress. She was born on 29th April, 1970 in Massachusetts, U.S and started her acting career, in 1985, as a fashion model, she was just 15 years of age at that time.
Career Highlights
Thurman did her debut film in 1988; she appeared in “Johnny Be Good”, “Kiss Daddy Goodnight” and “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen”. Her career breakthrough came with her movie “Dangerous Liaisons”, for which she won praise not only from the fellow actors but also from the critics.
In 1993, she appeared in “Even Cowgirls Get the Blues” followed by “Mad Dog” and “Glory”. Pulp Fiction earned Uma Thurman her first ever Oscar nomination in the category for best supporting actress.
Her movies “Beautiful Girls” and “The Truth About Cats & Dogs” managed to get a moderate success at the box office. Similar was the fate of “Batman & Robin” in which she played the role as Poison Ivy, it also received mixed reviews and wasn’t much to write home about.
